It represents 10,000 members of our Bryan-College Station community choosing to connect, support local businesses, and celebrate everything that makes the Brazos Valley such a special place to live.

Reaching 10K Instagram followers would be an exciting moment for anyone, but for us, it’s a lot more than just 10K. It represents 10,000 members of our community choosing to connect, support local spots, and celebrate everything that makes Bryan-College Station such a special place to live.

Looking back at where Around BCS started makes reaching this milestone even more meaningful.

Born Out of Community Need

The idea for Around BCS originally came during the pandemic. Our team at Impact Group Marketing was looking for a practical way to keep residents connected to the local community at a time when small business owners were facing unprecedented challenges. What started as an effort to highlight local spots quickly transformed into a broader project to give small businesses a voice in the community.

Over time, we frequently spoke with independent business owners who had exceptional food, unique products, and passion but lacked the time or resources to handle digital marketing on top of running their daily operations. We wanted to create a platform that could level the playing field, offering small business owners real local reach without needing a huge budget.

One Central Hub for the Brazos Valley

As the platform has grown, it’s evolved into a go-to resource for people in town. Around BCS was built to answer a simple question: What is happening around town?

From monthly event guides and hidden-gem roundups to seasonal lists, our core purpose has remained the same: championing the people and places that give the Brazos Valley its flavor.

This community platform exists because of your support. Every like, comment, tag, and share helps another local business thrive. Seeing residents use our guides to discover new favorite spots in Bryan and College Station is the most satisfying part of what we do.
