When the Texas sun is shining and the breeze is just right, there’s no better way to enjoy the Brazos Valley than dining al fresco. Whether you’re looking for a casual happy hour, a family-friendly brunch, or a scenic spot for a date night, College Station and Bryan have plenty of patios perfect for soaking up the spring season.

Here’s your guide to the best outdoor dining spots around BCS, no matter the occasion.

Downtown Bryan Patios

Downtown Bryan offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern outdoor spaces, making it an ideal destination for an evening stroll and a bite to eat.

The BCS area hosts only a few local pizza spots, but Bryan is home not only to Rx Pizza but also to the criminally underrated Mr. G’s pizza, both right across the street from each other. Each restaurant features limited outdoor seating and spectacular specialty pizzas.

Bryan is also home to both Messina Hof Winery and Christopher’s World Grille. Messina Hof is an award-winning winery that was founded in 1977. Set on a beautiful estate with acres of land to walk through, it’s a gorgeous setting for wining or dining. Christopher’s World Grille is a 26-year Bryan classic set in a 100-year-old Texas ranch house, with outdoor seating for anyone and everyone.

College Station Classics

  • Napa Flats – Napa Flats Wood Fired Kitchen is located in the heart of College Station, just a few miles from campus. It’s an Italian restaurant with delicious pastas, pizzas, and gelatos. Their outdoor seating is beautiful and comfortable, and the perfect setting for a date or a dinner with friends.
  • Wings ‘N More – Boasting multiple locations all around BCS, Wings ‘N More has been around since 1986. They’re known for their wings, but serve other foods from quesadillas to seafood. Their outdoor section features a simple outside patio and chairs that match the vibe perfectly; comfortable but not too fancy.
  • Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill – An award-winning burger restaurant with huge portions, great food, and better vibes. It’s a rustic style building with more seating outside than inside, and a perfect place to bring your family or a big group of friends.
  • De Baca Steakhouse – A newer Aggieland favorite known for its upscale atmosphere, craft cocktails, and patio happy hour with a beautiful overlook. The perfect spot to unwind with friends, enjoy drinks at sunset, or elevate your next night out in College Station.

Century Square

Century Square is a beautiful community and shopping center. The destination is most known for its iconic, grassy square that occasionally features bands and performances, but is most well known as a place to eat and relax with friends and family.

There are a plethora of restaurants surrounding the Green: Sweet Paris, a delicious creperie (sweet and savory!) and cafe; Hopdoddy, a burger bar with delicious specialty burgers; Juanita’s, a classic Tex-Mex restaurant with great margs and great family vibes; and Lick, an “honest ice creamery” with healthy ice cream and unique flavors.

Down on the other end of Century Square is a different group of restaurants that share a comfortable, beautiful patio perfect for sharing with friends in the great weather of Spring.

  • Piada – An underrated chain that’s often called the Italian Chipotle, this Italian street food is delicious and fairly priced.
  • Velvet Taco – Known for being “open late” and having very unique taco ideas, Velvet Taco features delicious tacos, margaritas, and other random but delicious sides you won’t want to miss out on.

Food Trucks of BCS

There are a huge number of food trucks in College Station and Bryan, both a home to a large variety of cuisines and foods. Delicious and often underrated food spots, the food trucks of Bryan and College Station are great spots to get a bite and enjoy the outdoor weather.

  • Taqueria los Chavos – Known as one of the best taco trucks in CStat, it’s located off of Texas and Harvey Mitchell Pkwy (in the Franky’s gas station parking lot). It has eclectic seating built into the carwash area that adds a different vibe and fun time for authentic Mexican street tacos.
  • Abu Omar Halal – Located off of Texas and Manuel, Abu Omar Halal is a Shawarma food truck that’s bound to be busy every time you drive by.
  • Saigonista – A Vietnamese and Banh Mi food truck serving authentic Banh Mi sandwiches, desserts, and variety of drinks. Located off of Texas and Harvey, Saigonista is right in the heart of College Station.
