The Ultimate Football Weekend To-Do List: Friday to Sunday

Planning a football weekend in College Station? From Texas A&M game day traditions and local restaurants to Northgate nightlife and Sunday morning coffee, there’s plenty to pack into a weekend in Aggieland.

There’s a lot to do on game days in College Station, and while some opt to go to the game and then go home, our opinion is that the best experience is a busy one. Map out your Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with this plan for the full Aggieland football experience.

Friday: Arrival & Night Out

• Dinner at Fuego or Gumby’s – Grab huge (and delicious) tacos at Fuego Tortilla Grill, or kick off the night with pizza rolls and specialty pies at Gumby’s Pizza.
• Midnight Yell Practice – A free tradition before every home game; join students and visitors alike for a very fun, very loud midnight pep rally.
• Night Out on Northgate or in Downtown Bryan – Head to the Northgate Entertainment District across from campus for high-energy bars and college nightlife. If you prefer a more relaxed scene, head to Downtown Bryan for craft cocktail lounges and cool bars.

Saturday: Game Day (For a Morning Game)

• Start at Mess Waffles & Carport Coffee – Start early in Century Square with chicken and waffles or savory breakfast bowls at Mess Waffles, then grab a coffee at Carport Coffee on your way to campus.
• Morning Campus Walk – Head to campus early and walk around Aggie Park, explore the Memorial Student Center (MSC), and check out the main parts of campus near the Commons on the east side.
• Head to the Game – Get to the stadium early for pregame traditions and get ready for Power and the team walkout.
• Post-Game Lunch at Koppe Bridge or Wings ‘N More – These places have the perfect game day vibe and some of the best food in College Station.
• Afternoon in Downtown Bryan – Spend the late afternoon strolling through Historic Downtown Bryan to browse local boutiques, antique shops, and galleries.
• Dinner & Drinks at Rx Pizza – Wrap up game day in Downtown Bryan with brick-oven pizzas, house appetizers, and signature cocktails.

Sunday: Morning Fuel & Departure

• Breakfast at Sweet Paris Crêperie – Enjoy sweet or savory French crêpes, waffles, and hot breakfast items in Century Square.
• Coffee at Harvest Coffee Bar – On your way out, grab a latte at Harvest Coffee Bar, then begin your journey home!

Football Weekend Tips

• Respect MSC Traditions: Remember to remove your hat inside the Memorial Student Center and avoid walking on the grass surrounding the building.
• Plan for Post-Game Traffic: It’s going to be busy no matter what, so leave plenty of time between the end of the game and your lunch meetups or reservations.
• Check Sunday Hours: Downtown coffee shops and breakfast spots can get busy on Sunday mornings, so arrive early to grab your coffee before heading out of town.
